Getting a driver's license

​To obtain a professional taxi driver's license, you must meet the following requirements:

• Class B driver's license: You must have a class B driver's license that has been valid for at least one year and was issued in Finland, the EU or the EEA region.

• Health Requirements: You must meet Group 2 health requirements.

• Criminal and fine register: The applicant's background is checked from the criminal and fine register.

• Test: A successfully completed taxi driver test containing 50 multiple-choice questions and lasting up to 45 minutes.

Education Structure and Performance

• Duration: 2 hours.

​Validity of the permit

• Validity: 5 years at a time or 2 years for people over 68 years old.
  Renewal: When the permit expires, it must be renewed.

Application process

 

Applying: Leave an application at Ajovarma's service point. Attach a medical certificate and a photo that is no longer than 6 months old, if you do not have a valid passport or identity card.

Driving license processing: The processing time is about three weeks.​
