Becoming a taxi driver in Finland

A clear route into the profession, also if Finnish is not your first language. Right now you can prepare for the taxi driver exam. From 1 November 2026 a new 21-hour basic training must be completed before the exam — we are preparing it now.

Taxi driver exam preparation

Prepare for the taxi driver exam right now. You get the study materials and personal guidance — including the Finnish vocabulary needed in the exam. The Ajovarma exam fee is paid separately.

Course language: instruction and materials are in Finnish. English support is available when needed.

Coming 1 November 2026Training under the new law

Basic training · 21 hours

From 1 November 2026, as a new driver you complete 21 hours of basic training before the taxi driver exam. The training gives you the skills for professional taxi work — no previous experience is required.

Course dates and price will be published in autumn 2026. Join the waiting list to get them first.

Assisting passengers and ensuring safety
Special needs of different passenger groups
Customer service situations in taxi work
The driver's rights and obligations
Traffic and transport safety
Emergency first aid
